Finally, an answer, day before yesterday (the 16th). Max's tumor is a good news/bad news situation. It was a "malignant fibrous-cysto-cytosis". It's a cancer that seems to appear in some cats after certain inoculations. Hell of a note - inoculated against diseases and your cat gets cancer.

Anyway, it's a good news/bad news situation. The good news is, he can be treated in town, with chemo-therapy; he won't have to be sent to Columbia for radiation treatment. It's just as well, because there would've been a danger with affecting his intestines in that area.

Now the bad news - there's no data on survival, because this type of cancer often comes back. The doctor says she's removed a tumor from a dog more than once of this type.  So, the way to look at it is we've bought him some time.  We just have to be optimistic that the chemo will kill off any cells that might turn cancerous or any left over that might still have been missed being removed. In the meantime, I also want to pursue holistic remedies.  It can't hurt.  The vet I'm thinking of is one we used to take our cats to who has since branched out into this holistic approach of medicines.  So, we'll contact her in the next few weeks. At least Max won't be away from home now - we only have to take him back to the specialist every 3 weeks or so for four treatments.  I'm to make an appointment t consult with the oncologist in a little over a week.

I took Max in to have his surgical staples removed. This gives him a week or so to not have to be trucked back and forth to the doctor.  Plus, after today, he can have run of the house.

Meanwhile, we believe Sky has another bladder infection (they're becoming somewhat chronic). He peed on the bed Tuesday night.  Poor Buddy. Got him some antibiotics yesterday. It's a liquid - still a pain to give to him.

We should've recognized the signs - less pee in the box, acting a bit droopy, not moving from a particular spot where he's laying. We had to keep him and Merlin in the basement the last 36 hours or so. At least we got a good night's sleep last night.
